Course Overview
This Foundation course provides a solid base of environmental and sustainability knowledge for those starting our in environmental management or those where environmental management is an integral part of wider responsibilities. A wide range of environment and sustainability principles are covered during the 5-day course, with the opportunity to learn about best practice in the field. Successful completion of the course will lead to Associate membership of IEMA and the benefits of IEMA membership.
5 DAYS Monday to Friday with a 1-hr open book multiple-choice exam at the end. (pre-registration required)

Sustainable business/governance principles and their relationship with organisations, products and services
Environmental principles and their relationship with organisations, products and services
Overview of major policy and legislation and their implications for organisations, products and services
Techniques, systems and practices used to improve sustainability performance
Innovation and leading practices in developing sustainable products and services and providing sustainable solutions
How to collect data, perform analysis, and evaluate information
Researching and planning to provide sustainable solutions
How to deliver effective environmental communication and capture feedback
The best ways to engage with stakeholders
Tools and techniques that identify opportunities and risks and how to identify and propose ways to improve performance
Guidance on supporting change and transformation to improve sustainability
Who Should Attend
Those who are starting out in Environmental Management and those who have some knowledge but would like to formally consolidate their learning, however no prior knowledge is assumed or required.
Outcomes and Qualifications
On completion the learner becomes eligible for Associate membership of IEMA, giving them the AIEMA suffix and the benefits of IEMA membership. First year membership is included in the course cost.
